The Value Chain in Vectura

Purchasing
On behalf of Vectura’s importer customers, Vectura’s logistics department purchases almost 6,000 different items from more than 50 countries. Approx. 7,500 orders are made annually and arrive on 65,000 pallets from around 800 producers.

Receipt of goods
The incoming flow of goods is checked as it arrives on pallets or slip sheet. The goods are transferred to the most appropriate load-bearing unit, which are usually Euro pallets. Most of the flow of goods is also reassembled on quarter pallets for delivery to Vinmonopolet.

Storage
The automatic warehouse has 17,000 pallet spaces and maintains a constant temperature of around 14oC. In the peak season, almost 7 million litres of wine and spirits are stored here.

Receipt of orders
Receipt of orders is mainly fully automated through EDI orders from Vinmonopolet, our own e-commerce system e-Vect or via an interface with other systems. Around 40% of all Horeca orders are made electronically and the same applies to around 95% of all orders from Vinmonopolet.

Picking
Today, picking goods is usually managed via terminals on forklift trucks. Around 2.5 million product lines a year are picked at Vectura’s warehouse in Oslo and Trondheim. During the Christmas season, up to 1.8 million units are week are picked with continuous 24-hour operation.

Distribution
Vectura distributes to almost 4,000 bars and restaurants and to all Vinmonopolet’s 220 retail outlets. The products are delivered throughout Norway within agreed intervals.
