2011 was a year of consolidation for Arcus-Gruppen, with income of MNOK 116.8 (EBIT). The decrease from MNOK 132.6 in 2010 is principally due to non-recurring costs in
connection with the move to Gjelleråsen. The underlying operations showed progress and income, adjusted for non-recurring costs, was MNOK 170.5. Strong growth in the wine
area was the main reason for this result.

In 2010, Arcus-Gruppen achieved continued topline growth and significant improvement in profit compared with 2009. The largest growth took place outside Norway, mainly driven by a strong trend in the group’s wine sales in Sweden with a growth in turnover of 22%. There was also a positive trend in Norway and the group increased its market shares for wine, whereas spirits sales dropped slightly in a declining market.

Group operating profit increased to a historical top level of MNOK 132.6 MNOK compared with MNOK 96.3 in 2009 (adjusted for pension and property effects).

2009 was a dramatic and demanding year for Arcus-Gruppen, but despite this, profit performance was satisfactory. Strong top-line growth, combined with effective cost-control measures, compensated for high purchase prices due to weak Nordic currencies.

Almost 60 per cent of Arcus-Gruppens wine and spirits sales are now outside Norway – in comparison, the Group’s international turnover was only 15 per cent in 2003.

In 2008, Arcus-Gruppen achieved growth in all three business areas and, adjusted for the positive effects of property transactions, also an improvement in profit compared with 2007.

Increased sales of spirits, substantial growth in the Swedish wine market combined with increased cost efficiency contributed to the positive results.

In 2007, Arcus-Gruppen experienced one of its best years ever, with operating profit reaching an historical high level. Our products have also done well both in the domestic market and internationally.

In the summer of 2007, we sold our plant in Oslo and at the same time resolved to relocate to Gjelleråsen north of Oslo.

2006 was a good year for Arcus-Gruppen. Implementation of important structural changes was combined with improvement in profit and operations.

At the same time, we consolidated and cultivated our position in production, sales and distribution of alcoholic beverages through sale of Arcus Kjemi and acquisition of Swedish Vingruppen i Norden AB.
